What is IP Transit
IP Transit is a solution for operators that require global internet connectivity via Telia’s network. With IP Transit, you connect your own AS directly to the internet and get a stable, fully dedicated connection without traffic limitations. The solution is delivered to a service access point in customer‑located active equipment owned and operated by Telia and can be established at multiple locations across Sweden. IP Transit is used to build robust and scalable internet solutions with high availability and stable performance, even at high traffic volumes.

Technical prerequisites and usage
IP Transit is connected via single‑mode fiber to customer‑located active equipment and is typically handed over via an RJ45 interface for 100 Mbit/s or optical Ethernet interfaces for 1 and 10 Gbit/s. Other interfaces can be provided depending on bandwidth requirements. Telia monitors the active equipment around the clock and measures the customer interface via SNMP. Routing is handled using BGP4, where Telia announces your AS in TeliaNet and you are responsible for the BGP configuration in your own equipment. The solution can be delivered with capacities from 100 Mbit/s up to 10 Gbit/s, and higher on request, and is suitable when you need fully dedicated and stable capacity between your network and the internet.
