We now have an additional layer of protection against fraud methods such as Wangiri calls. With our latest solution, IVR (Interactive Voice Response), we can identify and block fraudulent calls to your network.
Since 2019, Telia’s protection solution has blocked millions of Wangiri calls — 37 million in 2024 alone. In March, Telia launched yet another safeguard against fraud techniques like Wangiri.
Fraudsters are charged call fees
With our IVR solution, fraudsters are met with an automated voice response and are charged the standard call fee. If a suspected fraudulent call still gets through, customers are warned if they attempt to call back. Telia’s protection advises them to hang up and not continue the call. No call charges are applied to those who hang up immediately after the warning.
Telia will donate the money collected from the fraudsters to the Swedish crime victim support organization (Brottsofferjouren).
